Target Window"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By default Power Inspector windows displays the data of selected <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/terminology\/unity-object\/\">Unity Objects<\/a> from <strong>both<\/strong> the <strong>Hierarchy<\/strong> and the <strong>Project<\/strong> views &#8211; just like the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/terminology\/default-inspector\/\">default inspector<\/a> does.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is also possible to <strong>restrict<\/strong> a Power Inspector window to only display data for Objects selected in <strong>either<\/strong> the <strong>Hierarchy<\/strong> <strong>or<\/strong> the <strong>Project<\/strong> view.<\/p>\n<h1>Separate Inspectors For Hierarchy And Project Views<\/h1>\n<p>This means that it&#8217;s possible to <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/getting-started\/opening-power-inspector-window\/\">open two instances of the Power Inspector window<\/a>, and set one to only display Objects selected in the Hierarchy view, and the other one to only display Objects selected in the Project view.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-707\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Target-Window.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1091\" height=\"535\" srcset=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/08\/Target-Window.png 1091w, https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/08\/Target-Window-300x147.png 300w, https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/08\/Target-Window-768x377.png 768w, https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/08\/Target-Window-1024x502.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1091px) 100vw, 1091px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Having separate inspectors for the two windows has <strong>benefits <\/strong>such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Less Mouse Movement<\/strong> &#8211; Reduces the amount of mouse travel required to move the cursor over the relevant Inspector after changing the selected Object.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Easy Multi-Tasking<\/strong> &#8211; Makes it trivial to inspect the data of hierarchy Objects and assets at the same time. This also makes it easy to drag Object references or <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/features\/copy-paste\/\">copy-paste values<\/a> between the two windows.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Faster Navigation<\/strong> &#8211; Each window has separate <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/features\/navigation-buttons\/\">navigation histories<\/a>, making it easier to move between previously selected Objects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Changing The Target Window<\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-708\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/SetTargetWindow.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"635\" height=\"227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/08\/SetTargetWindow.png 635w, https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/08\/SetTargetWindow-300x107.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can <strong>change<\/strong> the current <strong>Target Window<\/strong> of a Power Inspector window using the <strong>window context menu<\/strong>, accessible either by <strong>right-clicking<\/strong> its <strong>tab<\/strong>, or by clicking the context menu icon at the top-right corner of the window.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By default Power Inspector windows displays the data of selected Unity Objects from both the Hierarchy and the Project views &#8211; just like the default inspector does.
