{"id":866,"date":"2019-09-06T10:53:36","date_gmt":"2019-09-06T10:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/?p=866"},"modified":"2021-03-24T18:10:00","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T18:10:00","slug":"compatibility-with-peek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/compatibility\/compatibility-with-peek\/","title":{"rendered":"Compatibility With Peek"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assetstore.unity.com\/packages\/tools\/utilities\/peek-149410?aid=1100l7SbZ\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/api.assetstore.unity3d.com\/affiliate\/embed\/package\/149410\/icon\" alt=\"Peek\" width=\"128\" height=\"128\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Power Inspector<\/strong> and <strong>Peek<\/strong> combine together very well without any known issues.<\/p>\n<p>For example, all <strong>selection changes<\/strong> made through Peek&#8217;s interfaces will be reflected in Power Inspector just like you would expect.<\/p>\n<p>All <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/terminology\/unity-object\/\">Object<\/a> reference fields<\/strong> inside Power Inspector will automatically start using Peek&#8217;s <strong>Reference Inspector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Editors that popup from the GameObject Toolbar in Peek currently won&#8217;t offer most of the enhancements found in Power Inspector, but there are nevertheless still multiple ways that you can tap into <strong>Power Inspector&#8217;s feature<\/strong> <strong>set<\/strong> from Peek&#8217;s interface <strong>detailed below<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h1>Power Inspector In Peek&#8217;s Tabs Toolbar<\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-905\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/PeekTabs.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"432\" height=\"804\" srcset=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/PeekTabs.png 432w, https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/PeekTabs-161x300.png 161w, https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/PeekTabs-300x558.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you have a <strong>Power Inspector<\/strong> window open it will automatically appear in the <strong>Tabs<\/strong> toolbar in Peek for <strong>quick launching <\/strong>with a single <strong>click<\/strong> or using <strong>Peek&#8217;s shortcuts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When you open Power Inspector from the Tabs toolbar, the <strong>data<\/strong> for the selected target is <strong>immediately displayed<\/strong> on it.<\/p>\n<p>All of Power Inspector&#8217;s <strong>keyboard shortcuts<\/strong> will also work as soon as the window pops open, no need to click on it or anything like that.<\/p>\n<p>All features of Power Inspector including the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/features\/search-box\/\">search box<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/features\/split-view\/\">split view<\/a> work as normal when launched through Peek.<\/p>\n<h1>Opening Power Inspector From Peek&#8217;s Popups<\/h1>\n<p>You can also easily <strong>transition<\/strong> from Peek&#8217;s popups to <strong>Power Inspector<\/strong>, whenever you want.<\/p>\n<p>When you <strong>right-click<\/strong> any <strong>Component<\/strong> or <strong>asset<\/strong> shown in the popup, you will see two relevant items in the context menu that opens:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-906\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/PeekViewInPowerInspector.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"409\" height=\"392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/PeekViewInPowerInspector.png 409w, https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/PeekViewInPowerInspector-300x288.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>View In Power Inspector<\/strong>: This shows the target in the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/terminology\/main-view\/\">main view<\/a> of Power Inspector.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peek In Power Inspector<\/strong>: This shows the target in the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.sisus.co\/power-inspector\/terminology\/split-views\/\">split view<\/a> of Power Inspector.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you have a Power Inspector window open in Peek&#8217;s Tab bar, and that is the last Power Inspector window you interacted with, then these commands will target that popup window.<br \/>\nOtherwise these commands will try to find another Power Inspector window to target. If no Power Inspector window is currently open, a new one will be opened.<\/p>\n<h1>Power Inspector Enhancements Inside Peek Popups<\/h1>\n<p>By default Power Inspector tries to keep most of its changes confined inside the Power Inspector window, and leave the default inspector as it is.<\/p>\n<p>If however you are using Peek and would like to see some of Power Inspector&#8217;s enhancements appear inside Peek&#8217;s popups, you can customize this behavior from the preferences:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Select the menu item <strong>Edit &gt; Preferences<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Power Inspector<\/strong> view and click <strong>Edit Preferences<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Compatibility<\/strong> unfold the category <strong>Default Inspector<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Here you will see listed all the enhancements that are currently possible to be enabled in the Editors found outside of the Power Inspector window.<br \/>\nYou can enable more items to have more enhancements appear inside Peek&#8217;s popups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Power Inspector and Peek combine together very well without any known issues.
